ABOUT MY PHOTOGRAPHY
With a perspective that embraces the world in all its diversity, it’s safe to say there isn’t much that I haven’t taken a photograph of – from heartfelt portraits and breathtaking landscapes to dynamic editorial work, corporate headshots, and unique documentary. My approach is rooted in a photojournalistic style that seeks out the genuine, candid moments that tell the true stories of life. Whether I’m exploring the wild, capturing the essence of an adventure, or documenting the minutiae of everyday life, my mission is to create images that resonate.
Photography is not just about what you see, but how it makes you feel. My work in travel and wildlife photography reflects my passion for adventure and connection to nature, showcasing the raw beauty of our world and the creatures that inhabit it. As a storyteller, I aim to deliver images that inspire and evoke emotion.
ABOUT MY WRITING
For me, telling stories is the most human of qualities – from fireside tales of old to the timeles works of art and literature, and the great cinematic masterpieces of the modern age.
As a writer, I get to tell tales in a myriad of formats, including online articles and video content, as well as a more traditional way too. My understanding of the moments captured in my photographs puts me in the privileged position of knowing how best to write the words to go with them – and vice versa. From copywriting and corporate literature through to editorial and creative writing, I get great joy in being able to take readers on a journey.
Adventure is at the heart of all I do. Whether it’s a short distance from my front door or a long trip to far flung corners of the world, there are things to see, people to meet and stories to tell.
When I travel, my approach to documentary photography is to maintain an honest story of what I encounter. I immerse myself into my journey, eagerly anticipating the unexpected, greeting new people who I meet along the way. From sprawling European cities to distant mountains, ancient cultures to new architecture, all of it contributes to the rich tapestry that is life.
ABOUT ME
I’m Jamie, I am a Storyteller.
I produce works as a writer, photographer, artist, illustrator and presenter.
I was born and raised in North Devon, and very quickly set about climbing as many trees as possible. The grazes on my knees were almost permanent throughout my childhood thanks to the low entrances to my secret dens in the woods.
Nowadays, not much has changed. Aside from a mortgage and a family
necessitating an actual house rather than a den, life through my eyes is still one big adventure. Much of this adventure is shared through my creative works, from written stories of travels, to explorations of artistic ideas, and in my photographic storytelling.
My love of wandering in nature has led me to many astonishing places around the world and to meet countless interesting people along the way. These interactions and shared experiences are what make us grow as humans, and where the sparks of new ideas are found. The search for more of these sparks continues.
ABOUT MY WORK
With my early career in Outdoor Education and Adventure Leadership, this naturally led me to meet many interesting people and to visit lesser known places. Telling stories of my journeys led to me being a columnist for Devon Life magazine, writing about travel and food in my home county. My words and photos found their way into more publications, as well as appearing online through websites and social media. Alongside editorial publications, my work has been featured by clients such as EuroWings/Lufthansa, Honda, Grazia and more.
I also provide bespoke Content Produciton packages for travel, adventure, hospitality, and food & drink clients, encompassing PR and social media work. These packages include photography, content writing, and videography, with each package tailored to meet the needs of the client.
